SUMMARY:Applications Open for 2025 FIGIJ Bursary In Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecoology
DESCRIPTION:Dear colleagues and friends\, \nTo improve practice in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology (PAG) worldwide\, on December 5th\, 2021\, the FIGIJ Executive Board unanimously approved the establishment of the FIGIJ Bursary in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology (PAG). \nIn 2023\, the winners were Dr. Susan Adongo\, from Kenya\, and Dr. Zhao Jinghui\, from China. \nIn 2024 the winner was Dr. Mariana Cheung Lopez\, from Mexico. \nApplications are open from September 1st\, 2024 through January 31st\, 2025. \nTo apply\, the following regulations must be complied with: \n\nThe FIGIJ bursary is devoted explicitly to fostering internships of young doctors dealing in PAG in internationally acknowledged PAG centres.\nThe FIGIJ Bursary is announced yearly\, one year for the next.\nThe number of available bursaries ranges from 1 to 3 and it is established year by year according to the fundraising situation of FIGIJ.\nIts amount is 3000 USD each to support travel and subsistence expenses.\nMedical doctors specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology or paediatrics and aged no more than 40 may apply.\nCertified good knowledge of either English or Spanish language is required;\nApplications for the 2025 round are received from September 1st\, 2024\, to January 31st\, 2025.\nApplicants from middle – and low-income countries (according to OECD criteria) have priority\, with no distinction of sex and race.\nA CV and a recommendation letter from the sending hospital or specialization school are required.\nA training programme\, previuosly agreed with the host PAG centre\, must be submitted with the application;\nAll relevant qualifications (e.g. graduation marks as a medical doctor\, specialization\, previous experiencies in PAG\, scientific publications\, attendances to courses and congresses in PAG) are needed to make the ranking of winners.\nThe FIGIJ Bursary Board will examine the qualifications\, choose the winners and get the same advice by February 28th\, 2025.\nThe winners must comply with the health and anticovid rules of the host country.\nThe formal proclamation will take place at the XXV FIGO Congress\, scheduled in Cape Town\, South Africa\, October 5th-9th\, 2025.\nThe winners are invited to take part to the 2025 FIGO Congress in Cape Town and possibly to attend the proclamation in person.\nFree subscription to the congress and a further 500 USD contribution for travel and accommodation expenses are granted by FIGIJ.\n\nFor more information\, and to apply\, please contact the FIGIJ Bursary Program Director\, Dr. Gabriele Tridenti: gabrieletridenti@gmail.com \nWorld IFEPAG Centers \nBuenos Aires\, 15 of August 2024 \nDr. Marisa Labovsky\nPresident of FIGIJ.
