Dear friends in PAG
It is time for a Presidential update, and I am pleased to share with you our new Advocacy Position Statement on Global Menstrual Health. Also attached is a second Position Statement on Mental Health and PAG. Many thanks to Evelien and Judy and the members of their Working Party – we appreciate your commitment for change. More contributions from the Strategy and Advocacy Working Party will follow.
As you will appreciate from the various communications since December 2019, your Board has been working tirelessly for FIGIJ.
I now ask for your help in return.
Firstly please circulate our Position Statements far and wide among your members and your sister organisations:
FIGIJ Advocacy Statement on Global Menstrual Health
FIGIJ Advocacy Statement on Mental Health in Children and Adolescents from a PAG Perspective
Secondly please let us have details of your forthcoming National or Regional meetings so we can publicise them for you on the website. Submissions can be sent directly to our Web Master Lisa Rome and please give us as much notice as possible. At present we are only able to advertise a fraction of the meetings being held.
Third, with many thanks to Charleen Cheung, please join us on our new various social media channels:
FIGIJ Board has initiated various social media platforms to connect colleagues and friends in PAG family, to improve reproductive health of young women worldwide.
With these communication media, we hope to share news, educational activities and updates in practices more effectively, and strengthen our global network while we continue our good effort.

Finally, later this year we hope to be launching a new fundraising scheme in order to introduce FIGIJ Bursaries for targetted training in PAG. More of this later, but I hope that you will be able to find yourselves able to contribute either as a National Society or as Individuals to this laudable and exciting new initiative.
You will find our new Statutes under Mission and Statutes on the website.
Video presentations from the FIGO Africa Regional Kigali Congress are now available on the website.
More changes are on the horizon as we look to update our logo, but again more of that later.
Our next stop is Rotterdam for the much anticipated EURAPAG Congress which we hope you will be able to join virtually. I hope to see you there.
With my very best wishes,
Paul Wood
President FIGIJ
